Before there was CityCenter, MGM Mirage operated a tram that connected Bellagio and Monte Carlo. It wasn’t a bad idea at the time. There really wasn’t much between the two properties and it kept people in casinos owned by the same company. So naturally when they built CityCenter, the tram temporarily went away. When CityCenter reopened, they rebuilt the tram, but added a stop at the Crystals Shopping Center.
There is only one problem though. The Tram leaves from the furthest north side of Monte Carlo and drops off at the furthest south side of Bellagio. So it would never make sense to take the tram to go to Aria. By the time you’ve walked to either station, you are basically already at Aria. I’d also say that the tram really doesn’t save you any time if you are trying to get through CityCenter. After all, between waiting for the train and stopping at Crystals, you probably could have just walked that distance. Don’t believe me? Check out the image below:

The red line is the rout the tram takes. The blue line is the rout you could walk (Forgive the drawing, MS Paint is all the photoshop skills I have). It’s a far more direct rout to walk than it is to ride the tram. I’m generally a big proponent of taking the trams (especially the one from Mandalay Bay to Excalibur) to hasten the walk around the strip. But the CityCenter tram just makes no sense. My recommendation is to go ahead and skip the tram and just walk through Aria.

I would agree for the most part, except…and I’m a heat lover…when it’s 95+ out. (typed poolside at South Point at 95 degs.)
Great advice. Will be in Vegas next weekend.
Definitely making that walk. I took thatvtram once and thought the dame thing. Why?
