I’m back from Las Vegas. I took a nice four night trip to Vegas last weekend and returned home to Chicago on the 4th. After 24 hours of recuperating and trying to piece back everything we did in 24 hours, I’m back in action. I’m a little lighter in the wallet, my liver is pissed off, but the trip couldn’t have been more fun. Instead of blowing up a four-part trip recap like February, I’m going to break everything out into a series of specific content related posts over the next few weeks. But for you recap people, here is the high-high-high level summary of what went down.
Saturday morning my wife and I arrived in town and headed to the Golden Nugget. After checking into a Rush Tower room, we met up with friends and hit Fremont Street. After lunch and some gambling, we met up with friend of NeonDice and fellow blogger East Coast Gambler and proceeded to visit just about every casino on Fremont Street. After a lot of walking, Craps, Sigma Derby, Black Jack, Video Poker, Mob Bar, and finally Pop Up Pizza, it was time to call it a night.
Sunday began with the wife checking out the pool and slide at Golden Nugget. After she finished at the pool, we met up with friends and hit a late breakfast at Du-pars. After breakfast we bummed around Fremont Street for a bit playing a couple games here and there until it was time to grab the luggage and check into Wynn. We began our walk down the strip, played some Craps and got some beers at Casino Royale, and ended up having dinner at Holsteins. Afterwards we played some Video Poker at Book and Stage and headed to the Westin for more craps. From the Westin we headed back to Wynn for a late-night Sinatra Smash at Parasol Down.
Monday we got up and had a late breakfast at the Peppermill. We headed over to the Riviera to see if the new gambling rules had changed the place and to maybe try our luck at the lose-up-to-$1000 and get it back promotion. After playing at Riviera for a bit, we took a cab to Mandalay Bay and begin a long walk back to Wynn. After gambling at Mandalay Bay, Tropicana, MGM Grand, we ended up eating dinner at Skybox at Aria. After walking through Aria and more Book and Stage Video Poker, we ended up playing craps for a while at Imperial Palace. From there we took a cab to Fremont Street for more gambling. We finished the night with some late-night Du-pars and a cab back to Wynn.
Tuesday started at lunch with some great Mexican food at El Segundo Sol. From there we headed back to Wynn for some video poker. As we made our way towards Cosmopolitan, we stopped and played Video Poker at Venetian. We got to Cosmopolitan and played even more video poker at Book and Stage, after which we went back to Wynn to get ready for our dinner at Le Cirque. After getting ready and having a Sinatra Smash at Parasol Up, we cabbed it to Bellagio and had a great meal at Le Cirque. We met up with friends at Cosmopolitan and headed to play craps at Imperial Palace. After that we negotiated with a pit boss at Harrah’s to lower the table limit of one of the black jack games. We played there for a bit until we took a cab back downtown where more craps ensued. I ended up seeing Derek Stevens while we were at the Golden Gate and introduced myself. He is a super nice and down-to-earth guy. It was great talking with him. After a long night of gambling we cabbed back to Wynn for the night.
We woke up Wednesday and hit Hash House a Go Go for breakfast. After breakfast we walked back and checked out of the Wynn. We only had a short time left so we squeezed in a few rounds of Video Poker. But the time finally came where we had to head to the airport. Gambling wasn’t a success this trip, but we had plenty of fun. I have tons of thoughts and opinions on various things mentioned above. So stay tuned over the next few weeks, it should be fun.

I’m jealous! I can’t find anyone to go with me for my hoped-for August trip so no LV for me this summer. So, so disappointed. First time ever! I’ll visit vicariously through your posts.
